As we do Gods work, lets focus on our family as well. God entrust children to our care, lets create time for them and God will help us. We may not be 100 percent but God can help us to raise them well. Here are 5 tips i love to share in this month of October.

  1. Model Godly Behaviour

Children are naturally observant, and what they see often speaks louder than what they’re told. If we want to raise children in a Godly way, we must first look at ourselves. Are we walking in love, humility, and patience? Are we reflecting Christ in how we treat others and handle life’s challenges?

As parents or guardians, we are the first Bible our children will read. They learn more from our actions than from our words. Make it a point to live out your faith in front of them. Let them see you pray, forgive, and extend grace. Let them witness how you handle adversity with faith and trust in God. This teaches them that a relationship with God is not just something we talk about, but something we live every day.

  1. Teach Them the Word of God

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” It’s important to introduce children to the Word of God early in life. Read the Bible with them, and don’t just focus on memorizing verses—focus on the meaning behind them.

Storytelling is a great way to make the Bible come alive for children. Share stories of David’s courage, Daniel’s faith, and Jesus’ love in a way that relates to their everyday experiences. Discuss what these stories mean for them today. Help them see that the Bible is not just a historical book, but a guide for living a victorious and fulfilled life.

  1. Create a Prayerful Home

A home where prayer is a natural part of daily life creates a solid foundation for children to develop their own relationship with God. Make prayer an ongoing conversation with God in your household. Pray before meals, before bed, and during difficult situations. Encourage your children to pray for their needs, their friends, and their future.

Prayer is not just a religious duty, but a way to deepen their faith. It teaches them dependence on God, helps them develop gratitude, and reassures them that they can talk to their Heavenly Father about anything. When children learn to pray from a young age, they grow up knowing that God is always present, ready to listen and guide them.

  1. Set Boundaries with Love

Discipline is essential in raising children, but the way we discipline should reflect God’s love and righteousness. Setting clear boundaries teaches children right from wrong, but it’s just as important that these boundaries are enforced with grace, not harshness.

God disciplines us because He loves us, and our discipline should stem from the same love. Explain to your children why certain actions are wrong and the consequences of their choices, but always couple that with forgiveness and encouragement to do better next time. This way, they learn that while actions have consequences, God’s love and grace are always available.

  1. Encourage Service and Compassion

One of the greatest ways we can raise Godly children is by teaching them to love others selflessly, just as Christ did. Involve them in acts of service, whether it’s volunteering at a local charity, visiting the elderly, or helping a friend in need. These experiences help them understand that the Christian life is not just about personal blessings but about being a blessing to others.

As they grow in compassion and empathy, they begin to reflect the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve. Instilling this value early helps children understand that they are called to make a difference in the world by showing God’s love to everyone around them.

Final Thoughts

Raising children in a Godly way is a journey, not a sprint. It requires intentionality, patience, and a lot of love. But the seeds you plant in their hearts today—faith, love, prayer, discipline, and compassion—will bear fruit in their lives as they grow. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. God is with you, guiding you and giving you wisdom as you raise the next generation of believers.
