As i did my quiet time this morning and i read my Bible. I saw a scripture that stood out to me and that is 2 Corinthians 8:12 (CEV) says
It doesn’t matter how much you have. What matters is how much you are willing to give from what you have.”
What do you have that you can give cheerfully i would say? A lot of people will think i meant money? No!!! There are many things we can give that we don’t use money to buy. Have you thought of that? I used to have an auntie who always give her time visiting, cooking and caring for me as a young girl. Yet she didn’t have a lot of money. She just gave anyway. Anytime i remember a giver, she pops up in my mind.
Are you still saying i don’t have money? what do i have? We will discuss just five things you can give here but the list goes on of things/ acts you can give that cost you nothing financially.
1. Encouragement: you may know someone who is down and is hurting. Please give a word of encouragement – it shall come to pass. the situation is not forever. Say something nice to help the situation
2. Appreciation: Appreciate people. Thank them if you have enjoyed a favor. Give complements as well
3. Time: Give your time to people in need of it. Your ears to listen to them especially people who are lonely. Adopt a widow, be a friend of someone and be nice.
4. Prayer: Pray about all things. A lot of bad news are on the social media. Wars and rumors of wars. You may not be able to give cash, please give in kind(your prayers goes a long way)
5. Smile: Smiling is free and its lovely and encouraging. Give a smile to your neighbour, friends, enemies, partners etc. Brighten someone’s day.
Do not just give to those you know can afford to pay you back. It’s not help me with my assignment in class, I will help you back. Adopt widows, use your phone to call the lonely. Giving is not about money only. Offer car share. Spread positivity. It’s good vibes
