1. Change – if you are not happy with what you have now, or who you are in life then the only one that can make a difference to your situation or life is you. A change could mean changing your outlook on life, your outlook on yourself, your priorities or your activities, you have no one else to blame but yourself and only you have the power to change.
2. We need each other– All successful people rely in part on others for their success, every person has different skills, talents and abilities which when combined leads to an individual’s success. That gate-man is someone’s Husband. Respect people you meet on your way to success.
3. Set yourself targets or goals –Always set realistic targets and give yourself a date by which to reach your target, review your targets on a regular basis to make sure they are always attainable.
4. Never try to be perfect: set a standard and goal and do the task or job to the very best of your ability and be happy with that, as long as you gave it your best shot that’s all you or anyone else can ask for.
5. Believe in yourself –If you believe in yourself and what you are capable of achieving then you are more likely to be successful in whatever you do.
6. Perseverance and determination are needed for success. If you don’t give up then you can’t fail, it’s that simple. If something doesn’t work out as planned the first time then try and try again using different methods to achieve the result that you are looking for.
7. Become whatever you choose to be We can become whatever we choose to be. No kings, lords, no knaves can say us nay. For we believe that man is a potential doctor. Or lawyer or crook or dwarf or giant. Whichever he sets his mind to be. We shall be giants. And therefore We shall work. And work. And work. And work. Even if we must. Work our fingers to the bone. So may it be! – Tai Solarin
8. Bonus Tip– Commit your ways unto God – Pray about your success.
Examples of not giving up:
Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything.” He was fired from his first two jobs for being “non-productive.” As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the prototype of the light bulb. When a reporter asked Edison how it felt to fail 1,000 times, Edison replied: “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention of 1,000 steps.”
Albert Einstein did not speak until he was 4-years-old and did not read until he was 7. His parents thought he was “sub-normal,” and one of his teachers described him as “mentally slow, unsociable, and adrift forever in foolish dreams.” He was expelled from school and was refused admittance to the Zurich Polytechnic School. He did eventually learn to speak and read. Even to do a little math.
Michael Jeffery Jordan was cut from his high school basketball teams. Jordan once said, “I’ve failed over and over again in my life. That is why I succeed.”
Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because “he lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” He went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland.
David Jesse
So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”
And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
1 Samuel 30:8 KJV
We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us.
